THAY Medical’s newest addition

We are happy to announce the arrival of our new team-member Georgia Cater, who is joining THAY Medical as a Junior Human Factors Engineer.

Georgia spent three years at Swansea University studying Biomedical Engineering where she applied Engineering Principles to the human body, with focus on the advanced and innovative future of healthcare.

During her time at university Georgia worked on numerous design and research projects where Human Factors played a huge role and understanding the user and their needs was always the priority. These projects included:

-The quantitative design of the hemodialysis process, to optimise the function of the dialyser.

-The design of arm assist devices for individuals suffering from mobility issues.

-The design of multifunctional wheelchairs for physically impaired athletes.

-Research into the flow profile of blood at bifurcation points in arteries.

After university Georgia gained laboratory experience in the Microbiology department at Dorset County Hospital, where she became the user of many medical devices and experienced first-hand the importance of Human Factors and Usability Engineering.

“I am excited to bring my existing knowledge and experience into this role to improve user capabilities. I hope that my hard work will help support my team and grow the company.” Georgia says.

The team at THAY Medical wish Georgia a warm welcome, we are looking forward to working with her.
