Amanda Bakkum
Junior Human Factors Engineer
Amanda has a MSc (Med) degree in Biokinetics and completed her PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience at Simon Fraser University in 2021, where she specialized in human sensorimotor learning, control, and development.
Amanda has experience training healthcare professionals on postoperative rehabilitation practices and worked as a research consultant for a visual performance training software company. More recently, she worked as a behavioural research scientist at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she explored the development of reinforcement learning mechanisms to enhance rehabilitation interventions for children with neurological impairments.
With her academic expertise and clinical background, Amanda is passionate about generating impactful research that enhances healthcare through human-centered design.
