Fabiana has a BSc Degree in Psychology from the University of Milano Bicocca. She was part of the first cohort of students of the new and innovative MSc Degree in Applied Experimental Psychological Science at the University of Milano Bicocca, where she graduated with honors with her thesis titled “Face Memorability: A Cross-Cultural Study”. During the last year of her Master’s, she joined the Cognitive System Lab at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea, to complete the data collection for her Master Thesis.

In 2023 she completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Winchester, England. Her area of expertise is face-detection. Specifically, she studied how emotions can influence facial template used during face detection. She was able to build an algorithm to classify and predict people’s emotions based on their facial templates.

During the final year of her PhD, she became passionate about Human Factors in the Medical Field and now has the opportunity to expand her knowledge in this field in the THAY Medical Human Factors Engineering team!

Fabiana aims at using her research and psychological expertise to improve the relation between medical devices and their users.
