THAY Medical will be speaking at the UK’s largest medical conference and exhibition – “Innovation in Life Sciences and Technology” at Medtec UK 2015. Our Managing Director, Greg Thay will be speaking on “human factors and usability engineering for drug device combinations” at the event in March 2015.
Drug device combination products such as pen injectors, pre-filled syringes, coated dressings and patches often creates headaches for their designers and manufacturers since they are not just a drug or biologic and not just a delivery device, but a combination of the two. When it comes to evaluating the interaction between humans (users) and the combination product, it is not always straight-forward to determine the amount and level of design input, evaluation and design output required. The good news is that there are regulatory standards and guidance that can assist with determining what requirements need to be met and what evidence is required, but it is not often crystal clear. So, clarification is sometimes required and this is at least what the talk will be about.
Medtec is the UK’s primary events that provides the industry with the perfect platform to network and form partnerships that will deliver the medical devices of the future. It is a 2 day conference and exhibition at the world-renowned Excel in London starting on 3 March 2015. More details can be found at www.medtecukshow.com.
